Fundraising event guidelines

  • Events and promotions involving Daybreak’s name must be approved by Daybreak’s development department at least one month before the event.

  • Daybreak’s fundraising event application form (download the PDF here) must be completed and submitted to Daybreak’s development department before approval will be granted.

  • Daybreak will not approve events that:

    • require Daybreak financing.
    • require Daybreak to assume liability.
    • compete or conflict with already established or scheduled events benefiting Daybreak.
    • do not comply with municipal, county, state, or federal laws.
  • Publicity may not say or suggest that the event is being organized by Daybreak. Publicity must make it clear that Daybreak’s only involvement is as the beneficiary. We suggest the event name be followed by the words “to benefit Daybreak.” Please submit at least one publicity item (invitation, flyer, press release, etc.) to Daybreak.

  • If you solicit corporate sponsorships or items to use in a raffle or auction, you must make it clear that you are representing your organization and your event with proceeds benefiting Daybreak. You may not present yourself as a representative of Daybreak or solicit on behalf of Daybreak.

  • It will be our understanding that 100 percent of the net proceeds will be donated to Daybreak. We reserve the right to examine the involvement of another charity or suggested split of proceeds.

  • Event proceeds should be dropped off or mailed to:

    Daybreak Development Department
    605 S Patterson Blvd
    Dayton, OH 45402-2649

  • Daybreak reserves the right to use photos and information about your event in its newsletter and other materials.
